Remote Testimony Session Headlines LCJ’s Fall Meeting

LCJ’s sold-out Fall 2024 Meeting in Nashville featured a dynamic program packed with engaging discussions with corporate, legal, and political leaders. A discussion of potential new federal rules on remote testimony, featuring U.S. District Court Judge M. Hannah Lauck and other members of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules, was particularly noteworthy. Attendees had the unique opportunity to share their perspectives on how proposed rule changes could fundamentally alter witness dynamics and reshape civil litigation.

The Nashville meeting also featured a panel of current and former State Supreme Court Chief Justices, including Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Holly Kirby, who shared their perspectives on improving public trust in the judicial system. The program included interactive panels on litigation trends, rule developments, and the transformative impact of generative AI on discovery. LCJ’s signature Shark Tank session returned with a splash, sparking innovative and creative ideas for rule and statutory changes.

The meeting was an invaluable opportunity to connect with colleagues and to help shape LCJ’s 2025 advocacy agenda.
