LCJ set to meet in new york city

LCJ welcomes leading in-house and law firm members and guests to New York City, as we hear from a stellar list of speakers and discuss important civil litigation and rules topics. Members are urged to register early, as we had a full house for this meeting in 2022. LCJ is meeting at the Westin New York at Times Square, in midtown Manhattan, on November 29-December 1.

Speakers include Johnson & Johnson EVP and General Counsel Elizabeth Forminard, Meta Deputy General Counsel for Global Litigation Scott Tucker, ALI President David Levi, retired US Court of Appeals Judge Thomas Griffith, NYU Law Professor Richard Epstein, and NBC Legal Commentator and MSNBC Host Katie Phang. LCJ is also honored to have Judge Robin Rosenberg and members of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules join us for an open mic discussion.

The program features in-house and law firm experts on some of the most pressing issues in civil litigation, including expansion of nuisance theory, privacy protection and cyber security, third-party litigation funding, emerging DEI litigation, the use and impact of rules on major cases, and reversing the decline in public trust in the judiciary. We’ll also take stock of the proposed MDL Rule 16.1 and privilege log rule amendments at the mid-point of their public comment periods, and will discuss other new high-impact rules proposals.

The meeting is also an opportunity for our corporate and law firm members to reconnect while enjoying New York. LCJ is pleased to host receptions on both nights of the meeting and to be able to offer a limited number of Broadway show tickets.

A program overview is available here and updates will be posted on the website. Members and invited guests were sent registration materials via e-mail. If you did not receive registration links or have meeting questions, please contact Kristie Jones at kjones@lfcj.com.
