Wednesday, December 4th

LCJ President Molly Craig and our Tennessee Host Committee invite you to connect with colleagues at our opening reception from 6-7 PM at Butler Snow’s offices overlooking Nashville and the Cumberland River. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti is our special guest.

Some of Nashville’s best restaurants and the City’s famed Broadway are steps from Butler Snow’s offices. Be sure to check LCJ’s website for a link to restaurants near the reception.

Thursday, December 5th

Our program gets off to an engaging start with a conversation with Nissan General Counsel Jason Menges about timely issues and priorities on the minds of corporate general counsels.

LCJ’s “Ask About TPLF” initiative will change the way courts and parties handle TPLF disclosure – and our panel of experts will discuss LCJ’s plans and the latest developments in how courts are responding to TPLF disclosure requests.

Recent Supreme Court decisions are upending litigation approaches and creating new concerns with the end of the Chevron doctrine. We will look at unexpected changes that could shape the post-Chevron litigation landscape, and how civil litigation rules could help shape litigation terrain.

We consider “the Next Wave of Discovery on Discovery,” and discuss how generative AI is raising new rule issues and unexpected consequences for discovery strategies.

As we celebrate another very productive year and gear up for the year ahead, we recognize this year’s outstanding contributors and hold an interactive program led by LCJ General Counsel Alex Dahl on LCJ’s priority initiatives and how members can engage in them in 2025.

We wrap up the day by considering creative new rules proposals with LCJ’s fun and educational “Shark Tank Season 3 – A Field of Dreams!”

Thursday Evening, December 5th

Join LCJ colleagues on Thursday evening for conversation and refreshments. This will be an enjoyable event for reconnecting with friends and colleagues and re-energizing our efforts to shape the future of litigation.

Following our reception, join us for a special evening with The Warren Brothers. Brett and Brad Warren have penned songs that have become country music staples. They will entertain us with their memorable songs and captivating stories from their songwriting journey and careers.

All attendees are invited to the reception and the Warren Brothers program, which are included in the meeting registration.

Friday, December 6th

We begin the day with breakfast meetings where LCJ corporate and law firm attendees are invited to provide input on LCJ’s advocacy priorities and share thoughts about current and emerging issues. Following the breakfast breakout meetings, we have a terrific program on tap.

We open the Friday program with an esteemed panel on how we can address declining public trust in the courts, featuring Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice Holly Kirby, former Georgia Supreme Chief Justice Harold Melton, and former Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Bridget McCormack, moderated by former Colorado Supreme Court Justice Rebecca Kourlis.

The plaintiff’s bar has offered a significant rule proposal that would make remote testimony the rule rather than the exception, and LCJ is responding. Our panel of experts will consider the proposed radical changes that would impact corporate and other witnesses and discuss better alternatives.

Coming off a turbulent and historic election season, we conclude the program by looking at some of the best political ads of the current election cycle, what they say about public attitudes, and consider lessons for litigators looking to communicate with those voters/jurors.

LCJ President-Elect Molly Craig will drop the gavel on our program at noon on Friday.
